First Episode of “SACICT WAR CRAFT” Reality Show
to Find the Best Handicraft Design Team Kicks Off July 17

The first episode of“SACICT WAR CRAFT”reality show program sponsored by theSUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) (SACICT)is set to begin broadcastingJuly 17 on Amarin TV 34 channel. It is the first-of-its-kind handmade product design contest to search for the best weaving product design team. The reality show program is expected to provide audiences with inspiration in Thai craftsmanship by Master Craftsmen, gurus, manufacturers, specialists and experts in Thai handicraft products. It will serve as a bridge to connect people with the wisdom of traditional Thai weaving products available at handicraft communities as it is worth learning about artistry, value and tangible charm of Thai arts and crafts as people will realize the brilliancy of Thai craftsmanship that can be further developed for sustainability.

Mr. Pornpon Akathaporn, Chief Executive Officer of The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) (SACICT),said Thailand does not only have unique art and culture, but it also has distinctive Thai handicrafts and the renowned Thai craftsmanship. Therefore, the SACICT decided to launch “SACICT WAR CRAFT” reality show program, featuring handmade product design contest to promote and elevate Thai arts and crafts and craftsmanship of Thai people. All pieces of traditional Thai weaving products will be meticulously crafted and beautifully created in order to reflect the wisdom and value of Thai handmade products, making receivers of Thai handicrafts feel proud of being able to possess them. Moreover, we will be able to witness collaboration and contributions from people of two different generations; they will share ideas and valuable knowledge of Thai arts and crafts as well as showing skills in weaving products, aimed at preserving the artistry, value and brilliancy of Thai handicrafts and Thai craftsmanship to stay with Thailand for good.

“SACICT WAR CRAFT”reality show program is produced by the famous television production firm “JSL Global Media” with TV celebritySanya “Doo” Khunakornpresenting as the host to increase enjoyment and happiness. The reality show features three high-profile celebrities serving as mentors to share their ideas and expertises with teams of contestants in the SACICT WAR CRAFT that guarantees to make you slap your knee and bring you joy in life. The three mentors are designer and creative directorPolpat “Moo” Asavaprapha, a key opinion leader who is influential in the fashion industry;Sujira “Nui” Aroonpipat, who studied all aspects of clothing and apparel design and she has 20 years’ experience in the entertainment industry; andKorakot Aromdee, founder of Korakot International Limited Partnership and owner of theKORAKOT bamboo handicraft brandthat features a wide range of innovative bamboo handicrafts created based on the traditional kite-making techniques. Now, KORAKOT bamboo handicraft brand becomes one of the world’s most advocated handicraft brands. The top three mentors will bring more joy in your everyday life and will share their knowledge, expertises, enthusiasm in design and practical handicraft ideas with11 teams of contestants in “SACICT WAR CRAFT”.
